I have created a Line Follower using Arduino Robot (https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Robot). I have used MATLAB and Simulink for the same. I use Simulink Support Package for Arduino Hardware (http://www.mathworks.com/hardware-support/arduino-simulink.html) to access the peripherals of the robot and use Simulink modelling techniques to make the line follower algorithm.
This project showcases PID tuning as well as Arduino and Simulink.
